Our Story
ManagerMate was born from a simple observation: line managers are the backbone of every organisation, yet they often receive the least training and support to build their capability.
The Problem We Saw
As HR professionals, and as leaders and managers ourselves, we saw the same pattern play out across organisations. Managers were promoted for their technical skills, then expected to handle complex people situations with minimal training.
HR teams wanted to help but were stretched thin. Even where training existed, it rarely arrived at the right moment. A workshop delivered months before, or after, a difficult conversation doesn't stick; managers need support when the situation is live and they're ready to act on it.
The result? Managers avoided difficult conversations, small issues became big problems, and HR spent their time firefighting instead of focusing on strategic work.
We knew there had to be a better way.
